When you sign up for StatusQ, it is necessary to share the contact list on your device. This feature allows us to find out which of your friends, family members or other contacts are already using StatusQ. Without this synchronisation, we cannot link your contacts.
This means the following:
If you are saved in the contact book of a StatusQ user who shares their contacts with us, we could process your phone number even if you do not use the app yourself.
Only the mobile phone numbers from your phone book are stored cryptographically as a hash. These values can be used to link the StatusQ contacts. The individual hash values are only used for matching and can no longer be converted into a usable phone number.
The information enables other StatusQ users who have saved your phone number to see you in the Contacts tab in StatusQ as soon as you register on the app.
